MY soapbox

Sometimes, I really hate BYU. But only for very specific reasons.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being a Cougar, and I am true blue through and through, but there are some things that drive me NUTS!

So nuts in fact, that I am blogging right now to vent.

I haven't blogged in quite awhile, but for now, I need my soapbox. Even if no one hears me.

Everyone knows by now that I am currently working full time and taking 14 credits at BYU. I'm busy. To make a long story short, my 4-6:30 class went WAY over last night so I wasn't going to make it to my 6:10-7 class so I decided to skip ahead and go to my 7:00 bassoon lesson a little early. But, I had a very clever idea! Since I was parked by Brick Oven (closest lot to the JSB where these classes were) and it was POURING down rain and FREEZING cold and I was wearing hole-y flats (flats with holes-not practical, but very cute) I decided that instead of trekking all the way across campus to the HFAC and then all the way back to the opposite corner of campus, I would drive and park by the JKB. Genius!

As soon as I left the parking lot, I remembered something. Game night. Yikes! There's NO WAY there was going to be parking spots available by the JKB! It's right next to the Marriott Center! But, since my luck is changing ;) ;) I decided to try anyway.

After circling the lot for about 10 minutes, I saw reverse lights! Yes! But someone beat me to it in his little Toyota. And then... the reason for this post... I saw another guy, who had also been circling the lot. He RUNS over there and STANDS in the spot!! Like jumps out of his car to go save the spot! Since I was so close, and I tend to be a passionate person sometimes, I decided to let him know that that was not fair and to defend the poor guy in his car. I'm sorry people, but if you have ever been in a situation at BYU like this, and I can't imagine how you couldn't have been, then you know how extremely ridiculous the parking is. And I know as well as the next guy: FIRST COME FIRST SERVE! Sorry dude on FOOT in a PARKING lot, but the OTHER GUY got there FIRST! He deserves the spot.

So... I rolled my window down and shout through the rain: "You can't do that!" Some girl next to me started honking at me. I later realized that it was his wife. They were a match made in heaven. If the guy had been nice to me, I would have just left. But he was JERK!!!!! (We'll just call him J) I can't even explain how RUDE he was to me! But I was "in the way." So I rounded the corner, pulled my car over, left it running and GOT OUT to talk to J. After some investigation, I find that both these guys are trying to get to the game. HELLO! Get there early. Come on, the game has already started. And you know what J (Jerk Man) pulls out as an excuse??!?!? "My wife is pregnant!" ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!?!!?! That is ONLY a good excuse if she is IN LABOR!!!! If she is really SO pregnant that it is going to be difficult for her to walk to the Marriott Center, then you FOR SURE should have gotten there EARLY! And even better, how bout J, you DROP YOUR WIFE OFF at the Marriott center and YOU go park the dang car and WALK there!! Anyways then I try to tell him that I have class and I'm just tough out of luck, trying to show him that it is what it is, you know? And you know what he says?!?! "Well why didn't you get here ten minutes earlier?"

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'LL TELL YOU WHY!!!!!

IT'S BECAUSE I FORGOT ABOUT YOU PSYCHOS THAT MAKE ME SO EMBARRASSED TO CALL MYSELF A COUGAR!!!!

Thank you.

The end.

On a happier note, I am currently grateful for:

Eric, of course,
The advertising program,
My Media Law professor for extending the due date for our paper to NEXT Friday,
Catch-up chats,
P90x (although this gratitude is bitter sweet because it's so hard),
Scotty,
The fact that there are only 6 weeks left (of class) in the semester.

I can so totally do this.

And I have zero pictures because we don't take pictures. It's really sad.

I feel bad cause it sounds way way frustrating, but I'm so proud of you for getting in his face, I only wish you would've yelled more. You make me laugh, and you're a good writer, I can totally hear Courtney in this post and it makes me happy. I don't know why you didn't run him over. You should've said you had cancer or something. Or that your dad just died and that's why you were ten minutes late. Or that he should go to the U, where he belongs :)

Also! We went to this little souvenir shop, and there are a ton of I heart S D shirts, which would have been so cool for brent before I became SB, but there was a PURPLE one. I almost got it for you! So you could remember me always. But it's Sunday... and we didn't bring any money with us. But I wanted to tell you!
